- Founder attended FL GWN dragon boat camp, her first time in a dragon boat.

- First day of practice, on picnic tables, at Schodack Island State Park, 16 women attended.
- May 17 2008
- First community presence to promote team at Nisky Day and the Mohonossen Community Day.
- Jun 1 2008
- First dragon boat race, at Paddle for Pink in Mercer County NJ. Hope in the Boat entered 11 members
and won their first medal, finishing second of the breast cancer teams.
- Jun 8 2008
- One of the team's charter members died after battling breast and ovarian cancer.
We honor and remember Sue Becker for her enthusiasm for the team and determination to help make it possible.

- Team and coach traveled to Parsippany NJ for a paddling clinic with Ellen Law, a member of the U.S.
National Dragon Boat Team.

- Some team members participated in the Alplaus Ladies Auxiliary Paddle for the Cure on the Mohawk River.

- Attended 2 day Ride the Dragon festival in Burlington VT. Filled the boat with Hope in the Boat
team members, had very competitive times.

- Two team members are interviewed on WAMC's Roundtable show.
- Oct 26 2008
- First benefit concert at Christ Church United Methodist, Troy NY. Performances were by
musicians Maria Zemantauski, Roseanne Raneri and Lee Shaw.

- Presentation about Hope in the Boat to the board of the Chinese Community Center in Latham NY.
