Through the generous contributions of our supporters, Hope in the Boat raised sufficient funds in 2009 to purchase our first boat. Our fund raising goals for 2010 include:

• Purchase a trailer for our boat (approx $3,500).
  A trailer will allow us to take the boat to different venues to increase our visiblity and spread a message of hope throughout the region.
• Send our team to Peterborough, Canada to participate in the 2010 International Dragon Boat Festival for Breast Cancer Survivors (each donation of $30 sends our team one mile closer to Canada).
  We will represent the Capital Region as we compete against and form friendships wtih breast cancer survivors from throughout the world.
• Raise funds for training and scholarships to allow breast cancer survivors in the Capital Region to fully participate regardless of their personal financial circumstances (approx $8,000).

Hope in the Boat is extremely grateful for all contributions of any size. Your support enables us to fulfill our mission. Picking up the paddle empowers each of us to control our health and well being. Hope in the Boat is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Our Purple Tribute Ribbon is a special and meaningful way to donate. For a donation of $25 or more a ribbon is added to our purple boa in a loved one's honor or memory. Purple ribbons are fastened together to create a boa that our drummer wears providing hope and inspiration as we compete in festivals against other teams of breast cancer survivors.
